The changing phenomenon of crime coupled with the growing sense of awareness among the masses has forced the Police to transform the organization in order to meet emerging challenges while upholding honour, dignity and human rights of the people. Kasur Police are in the process of adopting the concept of problem oriented policing, whereby the problems are identified in their formative phase and are addressed promptly with the help of citizens. The thrust of reforms should be aimed at establishing a police system, which is neutral, depoliticized, non authoritarian, accountable to community, professionally sound, responsive to the public at large and last, but not the least, an instrument of role of law. Public participation is essential in creating and maintaining a peaceful environment. Therefore, new strategy for police should aim at promoting an image of public friendly police.
